What login details do I need to provide to my service provider?

This article applies to Express Installation services for WordPress.

In order to get your theme installed, you’ll need to provide a few details when placing your order. If you don’t know how to find any of these details, contact your web hosting provider’s support department. They should be able to help you find everything you need.

Please note: Access issues can sometimes arise – while our service team will work with you to ensure they have all of the details required to complete the installation, this can sometimes mean the 24-hour delivery time is not able to be met.

To successfully complete the installation, our team will need:

FTP details

In order to upload files to your website, our team will need FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access.
You’ll need to provide an FTP server address (usually something like ftp.yourwebsite.com) and a username and password.

Note: Generally this will give your service provider access to all files that have been uploaded to your web hosting account, so if you would like to restrict their access to just the folder where they’ll be working, contact your web hosting provider’s support department. They should be able to help you set up a restricted FTP account for your service provider.

Control Panel login details

In order to configure a database and other settings for your website, your service provider will usually need access to your web hosting account’s control panel. On many hosting setups, this is called cPanel, but this may be called something different on your setup.
You’ll need to provide a URL where our team can log in, and a username and password.

Note: As above, this will give our team access to a lot of settings on your web hosting account. If you would like to restrict their access to just the areas that they need, contact your web hosting provider’s support department to set this up.

What not to include

Keep in mind that Express Services only cover a very basic installation, so don’t include extra customization requests in this field (you can request a separate customization service or Custom Job for any additional work you need done post-installation).

What if I don’t have web hosting for my site?

If you don’t have web hosting, you can find a range of CMS-ready hosting options on imw3 Get Hosting page.
